We are thrilled to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2023 Emerging Talent Programme.

We couldn’t do this without our fantastic People who contribute to our mission each and every day.
And that’s where you might come in… With an eye on the future, the Emerging Talent Programme welcomes individuals who are at the start of their careers, giving them the opportunities and support to flourish, thrive and grow. The programme provides the chance to learn new skills, gain technical knowledge from industry experts and support sector-wide innovation.
What is the Emerging Talent Programme?
The Emerging Talent Programme is a two-year, work-based development programme that supports talent across the Places for People group. It combines job-based training, a comprehensive learning and development framework, and the opportunity to deliver social value in our Communities.
The programme will focus on developing three areas – your knowledge, technical ability, and essential skills – all supported and underpinned by accredited providers and partnerships.
Plus, once our emerging talents have completed the programme, they will be offered a permanent role at Places for People and ongoing support to progress their career.
Creating successful futures
Since launching the Emerging Talent Programme in 2019, Places for People has supported an annual cohort of graduates who have worked across the Group. They have superseded our expectations with their innovative thinking, values, and ideas which have all benefited our organisation. This has been made possible by the ‘open door’ we provide to senior leaders and the recruitment of individuals that are committed to progressing their career. Last year, we welcome 27 new emerging talents to our Group with 20% from a diverse educational background and a further 20% of individuals who declared a disability.
Kieran McCandless, a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, shared his experience so far since joining the programme four months ago:
“Joining the Emerging Talent Programme has given my career a kickstart. Often, the challenge in beginning a career is getting a job with the right organisation that knows how to take you from a fresh graduate to a competent professional. It fills me with confidence to know the Emerging Talent Programme is informed by this fact from the ground up and enhanced by experienced mentors.”

Applications are now open for our 2023 intake with a wide range of roles available including positions within our Risk Management team, Customer Experience team, Transformation Office, Places Leisure, and more.
