Places for People’s Alan Wharton wins NHBC Pride in the Job Award, Scotland

Places for People’s, Alan Wharton has been recognised for his dedication to raising standards in housebuilding after winning the NHBC Pride in the Job Award for Scotland.  

Alan beat off stiff competition to take home the prestigious title in the Medium Housebuilder Category for his work on our direct delivery site, Black Isle View in Inverness. He was also awarded the Seal of Excellence  

Organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC) the awards – now in their 44th year and widely considered the ‘Oscars’ of the house-building industry - set the benchmark for exceptional site managers. Judges assess people across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.  

Speaking on his award, Alan commented: “It’s a special feeling to be recognised as one of the best site managers in Scotland. The NHBC Awards are the pinnacle of a site manager's career. The team and I in Inverness are delighted that all of our hard work and dedication has been rewarded. I look forward to representing Scotland in the next stage of the competition at the Supreme Awards in London.”

Alan is now shortlisted for the National Final which will take place in January 2025 where he will be up against other regional winners for the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards.
