Places for People named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development™ 2024

Places for People is proud to announce that we have been named in the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development™. 

New for this year, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List recognises companies making employee development a key part of company culture. These workplaces offer employees the chance to better themselves, to learn new skills, and to progress within the organisation. They understand that development is not one-size fits all, and they actively support every single employee to undertake their own tailored journey of growth. Because of this, their people are fuelled by a sense of purpose, feel valued by their employer, and give their best to the organisation.

Our inclusion on this exclusive list officially acknowledges our commitment to development, innovation, and employee growth. Over the past 18 months we have introduced numerous new opportunities for our Colleagues to solidify our commitment to Colleague development including: 

• 7 L&D partners established across the group 
• 32 graduates joined our emerging talent cohort in 2023
• we launched our bespoke L&D programme, Flightpath, containing 8 programmes 
• over 2000 Colleagues use LinkedIn learning 
• we’re currently filling 51% of management roles with internal talent 

To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place to Work® reviewed our culture, benefits, and approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from our Colleagues. They then used these data insights to benchmark our company's Colleague value proposition against the culture our Colleague’s actual experience. Only the businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status.
