Half a decade of empowering Chorley’s youth to reach new heights.

2023 marks five years for Inspire (Chorley Youth Zone) and we are proud to have supported them through our Places Impact fund from the very start. 

Named ‘Inspire’ by young people, they do just that.

Chorley Youth Zone, named by young people as ‘Inspire’, is a purpose-built facility for the borough’s young people aged 18-19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs.

They give people the opportunity to meet friends, have new experiences, learn new skills, and access the support they need to develop and achieve their full potential. They provide an inspirational environment for more than 5,000 local young people and for some, a critical lifeline.

Over the past five years, Inspire has given people the freedom to discover themselves in an innovative, safe and social environment, and has been there to support their transition into adulthood. This has resulted in creating long-lasting change for 9,852 young people.

Every day, Inspire offers a variety of engaging activities to empower these young individuals, from thrilling climbing sessions and spirited badminton matches to learning to bake and playing football and learning boxing skills.

These sessions are key to supporting young people to achieve their potential. They are our future, and we need to hear and develop their voices – the benefits are significant when we do.

Supporting since 2018

Back when we first started working with Chorley Youth Zone in 2018, we were blown away by the scale of the offer and firmly believed that Inspire would be an inspirational place for young people from Chorley and the surrounding areas. Inspire not only benefits the families living in our homes across Chorley but also improves the opportunities for children in the wider Community, providing them with somewhere safe to go and enjoy themselves.
