Camden’s Tottenham Mews reaches new landmark as new affordable apartments ‘Top Out’

Tottenham Mews Topping Out Ceremony

Work to deliver 23 new affordable apartments at Camden’s Tottenham Mews is progressing at pace as Places for People, joins Glenman Corporation Ltd, Derwent London, RLP and Camden Council to mark the development’s ‘topping out’.

The milestone has seen the six-storey development reach its uppermost point after Glenman Corporation Ltd commenced building work on the project.

The Tottenham Mews complex comprises 23 affordable apartments, two of which are fully adapted for wheelchair users, set across five floors, in the heart of Northwest London, and will offer residents the ability to move into one, and two- bedroom apartments, some being dual aspect.

The building is served by a single core, with cycle storage for 51 bikes. On the ground floor and basement, an affordable workspace provision is located with entrances from Bedford Passage and Tottenham Mews.

With the building now topped out, Places for People will work with Camden Council to ensure these homes go to those most in need.

Designed by Formation architects and, concept design by Piercy&Company, Tottenham Mews is the redevelopment of the former Tottenham Mews day hospital site and aligns with Places for People’s commitment to delivering more affordable housing within the capital.

Sammie Steele, Regional Managing Director for Places for People Greater London, commented: “Following the merger with Origin in 2024, we are thrilled to see one of their first projects reach this milestone under Places for People.
