Places for People awarded gold for investing in people

– 1 min read

Places for People has received the prestigious gold level accreditation from Investors in People, in recognition of the Group’s commitment to put colleagues first.

The highest award for excellence in people management, the gold accreditation is achieved by just 17% of accredited organisations. Places for People was commended for our clear commitment to people engagement and development through our People First Strategy and Places Academy.

Assessors also praised the Group’s clear ethos and beliefs set out in our SPIRIT values, as well as our approach to colleague wellbeing.

Speaking about the accolade, Group Chief Executive, David Cowans, said: “We are proud to have been accredited with the gold Investors in People award for the third time. We are committed to creating a place where people feel valued, supported and have the opportunities to achieve their aspirations. This award is recognition of our People First approach and the work we do to ensure both our colleagues and customers have a great experience.”

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Places for People. Gold accreditation on ‘We invest in people’ is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and puts Places for People in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”

Gold accreditation is awarded to organisations which demonstrate advanced employee engagement through business leadership, improving opportunities for sustainable success, and supporting and recognising employees though structured working practices.

The Group was assessed against nine business indicators with over 100 colleagues from across the Group taking part in focus groups and interviews.
