The Part Exchange process
In a similar way to part-exchanging a car, we will buy your property – freeing you up to buy one of our brand-new homes.
The entire process is quick and simple and saves you from having to sell your home on the open market, with no lengthy chain to worry about and no estate agency fees.
Even better, you will be able to stay in your existing home until your new home is ready to move into.
How does it work?
Step 1
Identify the plot you'd like to reserve and visit our sales and marketing suite or selling agent. Find out more on our individual development pages.
Step 2
If Part Exchange is available on the plot you are interested in, our sales team will take you through the process and help you to complete your application.
Step 3
We will arrange a free ‘no obligation’ valuation of your home. Using a combination of our data and your insights, we robustly establish the value of your home.
Step 4
A Market Appraisal Report is prepared and based on the findings we will make you an offer on your existing home.
Step 5
If you accept, you can secure your new home. We'll arrange for your property to be placed on the market and sold.

Where is Part Exchange available?
What are the benefits?
The valuation report will be completed within 48 hours of the last agent’s visit. As a guide, if you submit an application at the start of the week, it’s realistic to expect an offer by the end of that week.
What will I have to pay?
Since you are selling to Places for People, there are no estate agency fees. You will only need to pay the normal legal fees to your solicitor to complete your sale and purchase.
Can I stay in my house until my new home is ready?
Yes – and that is a major benefit of the Part Exchange scheme. You will be able to stay in your property until your new home is ready and then move seamlessly from one to the other.
