Places for People has considerable experience of offering a broad range of homelessness services. Our aim is to create innovative solutions that improve the health, well-being and long-term prospects of homeless people and those at risk of homelessness.

We provide a holistic range of services to people with varying degrees of need – from those who may require short-term support to those individuals who have more ongoing complex support needs.  Our focus is to support people to sustain their tenancy and lead independent, fulfilled lives, free from harm or abuse.

We have significant expertise in supporting homeless people, including:

  • Young people & care leavers
  • Young parents
  • Single adults
  • Families
  • Tenancy sustainment

Our customers are offered tailored packages of support, enabling them to build their capacity for independent living and to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.

Across our services, our holistic approach has centred on working with local agencies to provide person-centred, trauma-informed support for vulnerable families, young people, and single homeless individuals.. Partnership working is at our core and we operate as closely as possible with key teams in health, adult social care and children’s services as well as voluntary and community groups.

Young parents pathway

Young Parents Pathway is a supported accommodation service in South Tyneside for young single parents, families and expectant mothers aged 16–25. We offer support to young parents from a range of backgrounds, with the aim of our service to provide a safe and secure environment for parents and their children.

Young person services

Our young person services specialise in supporting young people between the ages of 16 and 17 to develop their independent living skills in a safe and secure environment. Working in partnership with specialist providers, we support personal development, education, training, and employment opportunities to help young people prepare for the future.
