Derwent Living

Welcome to the Places for People website. This is the new home of the Derwent Living website.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the recent IT disruption at Derwent Living.   We have been working hard to return to our usual services.  You can now access most services we provide by calling our Customer Contact Centre on 01332 346 477

We will let you know when you’re able to register for a new customer account and use this to access a range of services online.  We will be in contact with you as soon as this is available.

Derwent Living has been part of Places for People for many years, and we feel the time is right to take the next step in our journey by bringing all our affordable housing companies together under one name, Places for People.

This simple name change reflects how we value all our customers equally and work together as one team.  Your tenancy will stay the same, and there will be no changes to your tenancy terms.  Our focus remains on improving the quality of the homes and our services, creating more new homes, and making a positive difference in communities.

How you contact us by telephone and who you speak to will stay the same.  You will gradually see the Places for People name and logo being used. We are keeping costs down by introducing the new name over time.

This means you might still see the Derwent Living name and logo on signs, leaflets, posters, and forms as we make the changes over the coming months.

If you have any questions or want to contact us, please call us on 01332 346 477.

We’re a ‘profit for social purpose’ organisation managing more than 25,000 affordable, mostly recently-built homes to suit all kinds of lifestyles.

As well as homes to rent for people on lower incomes, we offer properties for retired people, homes for sale through part-buy, part-rent schemes, residential lettings and key-worker accommodation.

We started out as a cooperative housing provider in 1964 and built our first properties at Derwent Court in Willington, Derby, in 1968. We’ve diversified over the years into areas such as market rental and student accommodation, and now we cover the country.
