Storehouse Kirkby Foodbank

Nottingham

Location: Portland St, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham, NG17 7AB, UK

During the cost of living crisis we understand more people need help for essential food, therefore Places for People have donated to various foodbank across the country to help our customers and other individuals in the community.

The Ashwood Centre is the home of Kirkby Storehouse Foodbank which seeks to serve residents of Kirkby-in-Ashfield. The Storehouse is an initiative facilitated by Kirkby Churches Together. They serve warm drinks, offer support and have a friendly team of volunteers who want to help and sign post people to services that could benefit them depending on their specific circumstances.

They operate a referral process to ensure that the right people are able to benefit from the foodbank provision. However, everyone is welcome to come along and will be asked a few questions privately to help the organisers understand individual circumstances. Often where possible they are able to provide an emergency food service for a three week period.

The Storehouse is open every week on Tuesday 2– 3pm (*changes at Christmas) and open for tea and coffee from 1.30pm.
