Furniture Support

Nationwide

If you are on a low income or struggling to afford furniture, white goods or household essential items, there are a number of ways in which you can get help. From Places for People to external organisations, we aim to provide support, advice and signposting. We have a variety of resources to provide as much help and support as possible to our customers through the cost-of-living crisis and other issues. If you believe you could benefit from additional support, please get in touch to fill out a referral form.

  • Hoarding and House Clearance 

Third party organisations

There are a number of national organisations that offer furniture and household support. These range from free and discounted furniture to grants and advice. If applying through an external organisation, please do so within guidelines of that specific organisation.

  • Glasspool

    UK-wide charity that provides grants support for people experiencing financial hardship, with no restrictions on who they can help. They provide grants for all types of furniture, including flooring
  • Buttle UK
    https://buttleuk.org/apply-for-a-grant/
    support children and their families, including the provision of beds, and offer more comprehensive packages of support as opposed to grants for single items. Applications must be submitted by a registered support worker.
  • Family Fund

     help vulnerable children and young people up to the age of 18 who are experiencing a crisis or emergency through their BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Fund. They provide essential furniture items, and they accept direct applications.
  • Wavelength

    provides TVs, radios, and tablet computers to isolated and lonely people living in poverty.

There are also a number of ways to access free and discounted furniture locally in your community. These websites offer an alternative way to access furniture enabling users to reuse and recycle.
