E2 Food Pantry (Beaumont Leys)

Location: Beaumont Lodge Neighbourhood Centre, 250 Astill Lodge Road, LE4 1EF 

The aim of the project is very different from our Food Bank or the Emergency Food Distribution projects that they have delivered in the past. They aim to reduce the food waste mountain and prevent good usable food from going to landfill. One of the added benefits of this project is that people can save money on their weekly shopping bills as well as knowing they are doing their bit to help the environment.

 

Another aspect that is totally different is the membership charge that users pay to be part of the service. They charge a weekly membership fee of £6 or £8 if delivery is required. This is to support the costs of the project and is the only service that E2 provides where a membership fee is charged.
