Art in The Garden is for those who wanted to socialise outside (and online for those who preferred) to make art in an outdoor setting and benefit from the social and therapeutic aspects of doing so.
Two qualified art therapists and one trainee art therapist run the group where attendees can explore a variety of art-making techniques in the relaxing environment of the Redcatch Community Garden. This group provides a sociable, supportive and creative experience for local people.
Materials are provided. You can explore the art materials and work on your own projects, or Jenny and Kaya who run the group can suggest approaches. We are art therapists and although this is not an art therapy group we make sure it is a safe, accessible space for everyone.
We work under the heated Canopy (safari tent) and go ahead in all weathers. Suitable for beginners and those with art experience.
It is free to attend so that as much of the community can benefit as possible, and if you can afford it you can make a donation at Roots Café. Revenue generated from the café and shop helps to support this group. Suggested donation is £5 a session.
