What more rewarding environment to work in than a space where people are enjoying themselves through leisure and activity, and genuinely being inspired to be their best self.
At Places Leisure, we create active places and healthy people. We have multiple roles available for those pursuing a career in fitness, be it as swimming teachers and personal trainers within our leisure centres. It’s not just about hands on coaching, however, there are numerous support roles including those within management, as receptionists or membership co-ordinators.
Every day is different – it’s a space where people arrive enthused, and leave energised. There’s no thrill like watching a client learn to swim, achieve their fitness goals or understand how to live a healthy lifestyle with ease. Employees are offered support and training to ensure they become role models for customers, putting safety first, whilst gaining key life skills. Ultimately, the roles focus on people, and how you can support clients to get the most out of their experience, ensuring every day is a rewarding one.
A view from the team
"My career is fighting fit thanks to Places Leisure’s support"
Raj Kahlwan, Manager, Places Leisure
“There are few organisations that support your career progress while you are at home with a new baby. Having started my career as a leisure attendant, I moved up to operations manager and then duty manager with Places for People leisure. I left to go on maternity leave, but rather than being cast aside, the company embraced my future potential, nominating me for the Rising Stars project in my absence.
On my return from maternity leave that meant a promotion to general manager of a brand new centre. I had to work hard to build something special, but thanks to the support of the Group I’ve helped build our create centre up to a bustling leisure hub supported by a team of 92 colleagues!
The rewards have been incredible; our new centre was really quite hotly anticipated in the local community so we all worked exceptionally hard to create an environment they’re proud of – we’ve since reaped the rewards of a fantastic and positive public response.
The opportunities to better your professional and personal self and learn from others are endless for those who are eager to get stuck in!”
