Places for People named Housebuilder of the Year at the Building Awards

Places for People has been named Housebuilder of the Year at the prestigious Building Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair last night (Tuesday 8th November).

The award recognises the Group's extensive and diverse approach to housebuilding over the last 12 months - as well a pipeline that has tripled to deliver 15,000 new homes in the coming years.

The judges acknowledged the Group's central placemaking approach, which focusses on providing vital local infrastructure and facilities alongside new housing, in order to create attractive neighbourhoods and communities that ensure the success of both places and people in the long term.

This month's Building award follows closely on from our success at the Estates Gazette Awards in September, where the Group was named Residential Company of the Year for the first time.

Organised by Building Magazine, and hosted by Cold Feet actor James Nesbit, the Building Awards welcomed more than 1,400 construction professionals to last night's event, celebrating excellence in a wide range of construction industry disciplines.

David Cowans, Group Chief Executive

"This year's continued award success is testament to the hard work of a great number of people within the organisation, as well as our strong working relationships with partners in both the public and private sectors.

"Places for People has always strived to break the mould of traditional housebuilding, to deliver thriving communities where people want to live, want to stay, and are enabled to reach their full potential."
